Bank Holidays Act Amendment Act of 1906 (6 Edw VII No. 12)
9036 AUDIT-BANKS. Banle Holidays Act Amendment Act. 6 Enw. VII. No. 12,1906. (b) In the redemption and cancellation of any unsold Treasury Bills which may have been authorised to be issued in aid of the Revenue of the State; or (c) In the purchase and redemption of any Queens- land Government Debentures or Inscribed Stock issued under the authority of any Loan Act, at the current market price at the time of such purchase, and in the payment of any commission, costs, and expenses incurred in effecting any such purchase ; and not otherwise. All Treasury Bills oc Debentures so purchased as aforesaid shall thereupon be cancelled and destroyed in the presence of the Auditor-General and Under Secretary of the Treasury if such Debentures are in Australasia, and those officers shall certify the fact of such destruction to the Trustees. [ASSENTED TO 13TH NOVEMBER, 1906.] BE AME~ ~ ifENTl it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, ACT OF 1906. by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Bank Holidays aconndstruction Act Amendment Act of 1906," and shall be read as one of Act. with "The Bank Holidays .Act of' 1904,"* hereinafter called the Principal Act. This Act and the Principal Act may together be cited as "The Bank Holidays Acts, 1904-1906." Amendment 2. In section five of the Principal Act, the words of s. 5. "The Governor in Council may from time to time by proclamation" are repealed, and the words" The Home Secretary may from time to time by notification" are inserted in lieu thereof. 'The following words are added to the first paragraph of the said section: "and may in like manner cancel any such appointment." 11 4 Edw. VII. No. 8, supra, page 8665.

In the second paragraph of the said section, the word "proclamation" is repealed, and the word " notification" is inserted in lieu thereof. 3. The powers vested in the Home Secretary by this section may be exercised so as to take effect either generally or for any limited period or for any year, and may be limited to any specified city, town, district, or locality within the State. 4. In the last paragraph of the Schedule to the Amendment Principal Act, the words" twenty-fourth day of May" are of Schedule. repealed; also the words "proclaimed by notice" are repealed, and the words "notified by the Home Secretary" are inserted in lieu thereof.
