This Act may be cited as ;, The Banana Industry Short title. Preservation Act 0/ 1921." 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise indicates, Interpreta- the following terms have the meanings respectively lion. assigned to them, that is to say:-- "Industrv of the cultivation of bananas"-The clearing or preparing of land for the cul- tiva,tion of bananas, or the planting or cultivating of the plants, or the harvesting of bananas; "Certificate of having p:lssed the dictation test"- A certifi.ca,te under the hand of a State officer, authorised for that purpose by the Secreta.ry for Agriculture, that, when the said officer has dictated to the person concerned not less than fifty words in such language as the Secretary for Agriculture may direct, such person has correctly written them out in that language in the presence of the said officer;

No. 25, If either House of Parliament, within the next forty sitting days after any regulations have been so laid before such House, resolves that such regulations or any of them ought to be annulled, the same shall after the date of such resolution be of no effect, without prejudice to the validity of anything done in the meantime under such regulations or to tIle making of any new regulations. All proceedings for offences against this Act may be had, taken, and determined in a summary manner under *" The Justices Acts, 1886 to 1909" ; Provided that no proceedings for any offence against this Act shall he instituted except by the direction of the Attorney-General. . This Act may be cited as "The Wheat Advances Agreement Ratification Act 0/ 1921." Ratification 2. (1.) The Agreement dated the fifth day of April,.
