AUSTUDY/ABSTUDY Supplement Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Student Assistance Act 1973.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 January 1995.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The AUSTUDY/ABSTUDY Supplement Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 7 (Prescribed parental income)

3.1   Omit “$50,000”, substitute “$50,850”.

4.   Regulation 9 (Maximum amount of financial supplement for category 1 students)

4.1   Paragraph 9 (1) (a):

Omit “$6,000;”, substitute “$7,000;”.

4.2   Subregulation 9 (4):

Omit “$6,000”, substitute “$7,000”.

5.   New regulation 16

5.1   After regulation 15, insert:

Time for payment of financial supplement

“16.

Financial supplement is to be paid fortnightly to an eligible student.”.
