An Act to increase to Seven the Maximum Number of Members of
the Australian Universities Commission, and for purposes connected therewith.

BE
it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives
of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Australian Universities
Commission Act 1962.
(2.) The Australian
Universities Commission Act 1959 is in this Act referred to as the
Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal
Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Australian Universities
Commission Act 1959–1962.
Commencement.
2. This
Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Establishment
of Commission.
3. Section
five of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from sub-section (2.) the word
“four” and inserting in its stead the word “six”.
Meetings.
4. Section
twelve of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in paragraph (b)
