Protective Service Regulations
I,
THE Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting
with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and pursuant to section 4 of
the Acts Interpretation Act 1901,hereby make the following Regulations
under the Australian Protective Service
Act 1987.

Citation
1. These Regulations may
be cited as the Australian Protective Service Regulations.
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations,
unless the contrary intention appears, “the Act” means the Australian Protective Service Act 1987.
Oath or affirmation of office
3. For the purposes of
section 10 of the Act—
(a)
an oath in accordance with Form 1 in the Schedule; and
(b)
an affirmation in accordance with Form 2 in the Schedule, are prescribed.

FORM 1
OATH
I, , do
swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors according to law, that I will
faithfully and diligently exercise and perform all my powers and duties as a protective
service officer (or special
protective service officer) of the Australian Protective Service without fear
or favour, affection or ill will, from this date until I cease to be such a
protective service officer (or special
protective service officer) and that, while I continue to be a protective
service officer (or special protective service officer) of the Australian
Protective Service, I will, to the best of my skill and knowledge, faithfully
discharge all my duties according to law.

AFFIRMATION
I, ,
do solemnly and sincerely affirm and declare that I will be faithful and bear
true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and
Successors according to law, that I will faithfully and diligently exercise and
perform all my powers and duties as a protective service officer (or special protective service officer)
of the Australian Protective Service without fear or favour, affection or ill
will, from this date until I cease to be such a protective service officer (or special protective service officer)
and that, while I continue to be a protective service officer (or special protective service officer)
of the Australian Protective Service, I will, to the best of my skill and
knowledge faithfully discharge all my duties according to law.
