AUSTRALIAN PELAGIC LONGLINE DAILY FISHING LOG AL06 DETERMINATION 2007

I, Nick Rayns, Executive Manager, as delegate of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, make the following determination under subsection 42(1) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

Citation

1.This Determination may be cited as Australian Pelagic Longline Daily Fishing Log Determination AL06, 2007.

Commencement

2.This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

Interpretation

3.In this Determination:

“Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery” means all commercial fishing under a concession for the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery in the area defined in Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 1 of the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005. 

“Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery” means all commercial fishing under a concession for the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery in the area defined in Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 1 of the Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005.

“Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery” means all commercial fishing under a concession for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery in the area defined in Part 1 Division 1.1 in the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995.

“Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands Fishery” means all commercial fishing under a concession for the Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands Fishery in the area defined in Part 1A if Schedule 1A of the Fisheries Management Regulations 1992.

[Note: Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this Determination.]

Determination

4.The logbook known as AL06 (at Attachment A) is the form and content of the logbook to be kept and maintained by holders of Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery, Western Tuna and Billfish Fishery, Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery and Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands Fishery concessions in accordance with the conditions of their fishing concession and s42 Fisheries Management Act 1991.
