Amendments of the Australian Military Regulations
“ (1) Subject to sub-regulations (1a) and (1b), officers of the same rank doing duty with a regiment or corps shall take regimental seniority in that rank according to the respective dates of their appointments to that rank.
“ (1a) Where the appointments of two or more officers on first appointment to commissioned rank in the Military Forces are of the same date, they shall take regimental seniority in that rank equally with each other.
“ (1b) Where appointments or promotions of two or more officers to the same rank are of the same date and each of those officers held an appointment in the Military Forces immediately before that date they shall take regimental seniority according to the respective dates of their appointments to those appointments.”.
“ (1) The regimental seniority of officers of the Australian Staff Corps of the same rank shall be regulated according to the respective dates of their appointments to, or promotions in, that rank in the Permanent Forces, and, when the appointments or promotions of two or more officers are of the same date, by their seniority immediately before their appointments or promotions to that rank.
“ (1a) Where the appointments of two or more officers on first appointment to commissioned rank in the Australian Staff Corps are of the same date, they shall take regimental seniority in that rank equally with each other.”.
