1. Name of Order

This Order is the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Standards) Amendment Order 2006 (No. 1).

1. Commencement

This Order commences on 25 September 2006.

1. Amendments of Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Standards) Order 2005

Schedule 1 amends the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Standards) Order 2005.

1. Application of amendment

(1)          Subject to subsection (2), the amendment made by item 1 of Schedule 1 applies in relation to exports of live-stock from Australia on or after 25 September 2006.

(2)          In the application, on or after 25 September 2006, of the amendment made by item 1 of Schedule 1 in relation to cattle from the Northern Territory exported as slaughter or feeder animals, subparagraph (c)(i) of Standard S1.9 of the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock, as in force on that date, is taken not to be in force until 1 January 2007.
