1Name

This is the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Export Licensing) Amendment (Approved Arrangements) Regulation 2016.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Australian Meat and Live‑stock Industry Act 1997.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Australian Meat and Live‑stock Industry (Export Licensing) Regulations 1998

Subregulation 3(1)

Insert:

approved arrangement has the same meaning as in the Export Control (Animals) Order 2004.

Paragraph 14(4)(a)

Before “an operations”, insert “if there is no approved arrangement for the applicant—”.

Paragraph 16(1)(j)

After “application”, insert “(if required)”.

Regulation 17

Repeal the regulation, substitute:

17Approval of operations and governance manual

If a person is required under paragraph 14(4)(a) to submit an operations and governance manual with an application for a live‑stock export licence, the grant of the licence to the person is approval of the operations and governance manual.

Subregulation 18(1)

Omit “A live‑stock export licence”, substitute “If there is no approved arrangement for the holder of a live‑stock export licence, the live‑stock export licence”.

Subregulation 18(2)

Repeal the subregulation.

Paragraph 19(1)(b)

Repeal the paragraph.
