DECISION

Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009
s.159—Alteration of other rules of organisation
The Australian Maritime Officers' Union
(R2014/207)
MR ENRIGHT MELBOURNE, 8 DECEMBER 2014
Alteration of other rules of organisation.

[1]        On 25 August 2014 The Australian Maritime Officers' Union (the organisation) lodged

with the Fair Work Commission (the Commission) a notice and declaration setting out
particulars of alterations to the rules of the organisation.

[2]        The particulars set out alterations to insert a new sub-rule 31(b) into the rules of the

organisation, and subsequent renumbering of sub-rules and references in rule 31. In addition,
the particulars set out alterations to delete the superseded Parts 1 and 2 of the rulebook.

[3] On 27 November 2014 the Fair Work Commission wrote to the organisation and requested an amended declaration which included the requisite statements and was signed by an authorised officer, in accordance with regulation 126(1) of the Fair Work (Registered

Organisations) Regulations 2009.

[4]        On 3 December 2014 the organisation provided an amended declaration as requested,

which addressed the legislative requirements and was signed by an authorised officer.

[5]        On the information contained in the notice, I am satisfied the alterations have been

made under the rules of the organisation.

[6]        In my opinion, the alterations comply with and are not contrary to the Fair Work

(Registered Organisations) Act 2009, the Fair Work Act 2009, modern awards and enterprise

agreements, and are not otherwise contrary to law. I certify accordingly under subsection
159(1) of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
