REGULATIONS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS ACT 19791

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Australian Institute of Multicultural Affairs Act 1979.

Australian Institute of Multicultural Affairs (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Australian Institute of Multicultural Affairs (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations.

Remuneration payable to the Director

 2. Subject to any determination made under the Remuneration Tribunals Act 1973, the Director shall be paid remuneration at the rate of $35,156 per year.

Allowance payable to the Director

 3. Subject to any determination made under the Remuneration Tribunals Act 1973, the Director shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $1,300 per year.

Travelling allowance payable to the Director

 4. Subject to any determination under the Remuneration Tribunals Act 1973, where the Director is, in the course of performing his duties, necessarily absent overnight from the city or town in which he ordinarily resides or, where he does not ordinarily reside in a city or town, the place at which he ordinarily resides, he is entitled to be paid, in respect of the period of absence, travelling allowance at the rate of $53 per day.

Commencement

 5. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 February 1980.
