Australian Grand Prix (Works) Regulations 1995

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to facilitate the undertaking of works and to ensure an appropriate degree of safety of persons in the declared area of Albert Park during construction and other works for the Australian Grand Prix.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 51 of the Australian Grand Prix Act 1994.

3.Definition

In these Regulations "Act" means the Australian Grand Prix Act 1994.

4.Prohibition of certain activities in fenced off and cordoned off areas

(1)A person must not enter or remain in an area fenced off or cordoned off in accordance with section 32 of the Act without the authority of the Corporation.

Penalty:20 penalty units.

(2)A person must not in any way intentionally—

(a)interfere with or hinder; or

(b)cause any other person to interfere with or hinder—

any activity directly or indirectly undertaken by or on behalf of the Corporation within an area fenced off or cordoned off in accordance with section 32 of the Act.

Penalty:20 penalty units.

1.     General Information

The Australian Grand Prix (Works) Regulations 1995, S.R. No. 54/1995 were made on 9 May 1995 by the Governor in Council under section 51 of the Australian Grand Prix Act 1994, No. 68/1994 and came into operation on 9 May 1995.

The Australian Grand Prix (Works) Regulations 1995 will sunset on 8 May 2006: see the Subordinate Legislation (Australian Grand Prix (Works) Regulations 1995 – Extension of Operation) Regulations 2005,
