Australian Federal Police Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the
Dated 18 July 1984.

“40a. (1) A member who has attained the age of 55 years is entitled to retire from the Australian Federal Police at any time when he desires to do so.
“(2) Where a member proposes to retire from the Australian Federal Police in accordance with sub-regulation (1), the member shall give to the Commissioner notice in writing of his proposed retirement specifying the day on which he desires to retire from the Australian Federal Police.
“(3) A notice referred to in sub-regulation (2) shall be forwarded to the Commissioner so as to reach him not earlier than 4 months, and not later than 3 months or such shorter period as is approved in relation to the notice by the Commissioner, before the day specified in the notice”.
