THE AUSTRALIAN CONSULAR OFFICERS' NOTARIAL POWERS AND EVIDENCE"" ACT A1IENDMENT ACT OF 1949. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :- 1. This Act may be cited as "The Australian : ! ~ rttitle Oonsular Officer8' N otarial Powers and EvidenceAct construction. Amendment Act of 1949," and shall be read as one with *" The Australian Oonsular Officers' N otarial Powers and Evidence Act of 1946," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principa.l Act and this Act may be collectively ~ ~~ ~ tive cited as "The Australian Oonsular Officers' Notarial Powers and Evid, ~ nce Acts, 1946 to 1949." 2. Section two of the Principal Act is amended by !£ n:~ n~ent repealing the definition "Australian Consular Officer" and by inserting, in lieu of that repealed definition, the following definition, namely :- " ""Aust rali3,n ConsuIar Officer " - An Aust ra l l ' an ACounstsruallairan ambassador, envoy, minister, charge d'affaires, Office~. secretary of embassy or legation, consul- genera.l, consul, vice-consul, or consular agent, or any person acting in any such office in any country or place." Amendm. e~t 3. The amendment of the Principal Act made by to operate this Act shall be deemed to have been so made on the ~ ! c~ ively. twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and this Act shall have retrospective operation and effect on and from that date accordingly. * le G. 6 No. 43.
