Australian Commission on Advanced Education Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
REGULATIONS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN COMMISSION ON ADVANCED EDUCATION ACT 1971.*
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the
Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

Amendments of the Australian Commission on Advanced Education Regulations
(a) by inserting after sub-regulation (3) the following sub-regulation:—
“(3a) Travelling allowance is payable under sub-regulation
( 1) at the rate of Thirty-four dollars per day,”; and(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (5) the words “sub-regulation (1) or (4)” and substituting the words “ sub-regulation (4)”.
“3A. (1) Where the Chairman of the Commission performs duties outside Australia and the Territories not forming part of Australia, he is entitled to be paid such allowances as he would be entitled to be paid if he were the Permanent Head of the Department of Education and in receipt of salary equal to the salary payable to the Secretary to the Department of Education.
“(2) Where the Chairman of the Commission is entitled to be paid travelling allowance in respect of a period under sub-regulation (1), he is not entitled to be paid travelling allowance in respect of that period under regulation 3 of these Regulations.

(2) Allowances in respect of service outside Australia and the
Territories not forming part of Australia are payable to the
Chairman of the Commission in accordance with regulation 3aof the Australian Commission on
Advanced Education Regulations as amended by these Regulations in respect of
any period of office of the Chairman from and including 1st April, 1973
