I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the
Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the
Dated 29 May 1996.

1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 July 1996.
2.1 The Australian Citizenship Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.
3.1 Definition of “authorised officer”:
Omit “Ethnic Affairs,”, substitute “Multicultural Affairs,”.
4.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:
“
“
(a) for 1 of the applicants—$110; and
(b) for each other applicant—$85.”.
5.1 Subregulations 8 (1), (2), (3) and (4):
Omit the subregulations, substitute:
“
(a) a person who is an Australian citizen; or
(b) a responsible parent on behalf of a person to whom paragraph (5) (a) or (b) applies;
must issue to the person a declaratory certificate of citizenship in a form approved by the Minister.
“
An application under the Act must be made in accordance with a form approved by the Minister: see section 31 of the Act.]”.
5.2 Subregulation 8 (6):
Omit the subregulation.
6.1 Omit the regulation.
7.1 Subregulation 13A (1):
Omit “Form 9A.”, substitute “Form 10.”.
8.1 Form 6:
Omit “Ethnic Affairs” (where occurring), substitute “Multicultural Affairs”.
8.2 Form 8:
Omit “Ethnic Affairs”, substitute “Multicultural Affairs”.
8.3 Form 9A:
Omit the form.
8.4 Form 10:
Omit the form, substitute:
