(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Australian Citizenship Act 1948.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 October 1984.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Australian Citizenship Regulations.

3. Regulations 10 and 10a of the Principal Regulations are repealed and the following regulation is substituted:

Certificate of Australian citizenship

“10. (1) Subject to sub-regulation (2), a certificate of Australian citizenship granted under section 14 of the Act shall be in accordance with Form 6.

“(2) Where the name of a child is, under sub-section 14 (9) of the Act, included in a certificate of Australian citizenship, the certificate shall be in accordance with Form 7.

“(3) A certificate of Australian citizenship granted under section 32 of the Act shall be in accordance with Form 8.”.

4. Regulation 12 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2).

Repeal of regulation 19

5. Regulation 19 of the Principal Regulations is repealed.

Second Schedule

6. The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting Forms 6, 7 and 8 and substituting the following forms:

Use of repealed forms

7. Notwithstanding the amendments of the Principal Regulations effected by these Regulations, Forms 6, 7 and 8 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations as in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations may be used until the expiration of 31 January 1985.
