I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Australian Citizenship Act 1948.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 20 August 1986.

Statement and declaration for the purposes of section 23aa of the Act

2. Regulation 13a of the Australian Citizenship Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “section 23aa” and substituting “sub-section 23aa (1)”;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “statement and”;

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “are” and substituting “is”; and

(d) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) “23aa (2)” and substituting “23aa (1)”.

Second Schedule

3. The Second Schedule to the Australian Citizenship Regulations is amended by omitting Form 9a and substituting the following form:

I, having ceased under section 17 of the Australian Citizenship Act 1948 to be an Australian citizen, hereby declare that I wish to resume Australian citizenship under section 23aa of that Act and in support of this declaration provide the following particulars and statement:
