I, Andrew Giles, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, make this instrument under subsection 27(5) of the Australian Citizenship Act 2007 (the Act).

1          Name

This instrument is the Australian Citizenship (Class of Persons Who May Receive a Pledge of Commitment) Authorisation (LIN 23/043) 2023.

1. Commencement and repeal

This instrument:

(a) is taken to have commenced on 20 March 2022; and

(b) is taken to have been repealed on 21 March 2022.

3          Person who may receive a pledge of commitment

For subsection 27(5) of the Act, a Member of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales is a person in a class of persons authorised to receive a pledge of commitment to become an Australian citizen.

4          Previous instruments

     This instrument is not taken to repeal any other instrument current when this instrument is registered.
