An
Act to amend the Australian Capital
Territory Representation Act 1948.
[Assented to 25th March, 1949.]
BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent
Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Australian Capital Territory Representation
Act 1949.
*Act No. 18, 1922, as amended by No. 21, 1925;
and No. 65, 1936.
(2.) The Australian
Capital Territory Representation Act 1948, as amended by this Act, may be
cited as the Australian Capital Territory
Representation Act 1948–1949.
Commencement.
2.This
Act shall come into operation on the date on which the Australian Capital Territory Representation Act 1948 comes into
operation.
Qualifications
of member for the Australian Capital Territory.
3.Section
five of the Australian Capital Territory
Representation Act 1948 is amended by omitting paragraph (b) and inserting in its stead the
following paragraph:—
