An Act to amend the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Amendment Act 2006.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Add “and”.

Repeal the paragraph.

Omit “or staff‑elected Director”.

Cessation of staff‑elected Director and deputy

(1) Any person who is the staff‑elected Director immediately before the commencement of item 2 of this Schedule ceases, by force of this subitem, to be a member of the Board on the commencement of that item.

(2) Any person who is the deputy of the staff‑elected Director immediately before the commencement of item 5 of this Schedule ceases, by force of this subitem, to be the deputy of the staff‑elected Director on the commencement of that item.
