Australian Bicentennial Authority Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Australian Bicentennial Authority Act 1980.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Australian Bicentennial Authority Regulations.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, “the Act” means the Australian Bicentennial Authority Act 1980.

Official symbols of the Authority

3. Each of the symbols the design of which is set out in the Schedule is declared to be an official symbol of the Authority.

Prescribed expressions

4. For the purposes of paragraph 22 (6) (d) of the Act the following words are prescribed, namely, “Australian Bicentenary”, “The Australian Achievement”, “Australia 200”, “Sail”, “Sail Australia”, “Opsail”, “Operation Sail”, “Tall Ships” and “Tall Ships Australia”.
