Arrangement for conduct of election.

[1] On 26 August 2013 the Tasmanian Branch of The Australasian Meat Industry Employees' Union lodged with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) the prescribed information in relation to an election for the following offices:

Delegate to Federal Council	(2)
Committee of Management
President	(1)
Vice-President	(1)
Secretary-Treasurer	(1)
Assistant Secretary	(1)

Committee of Management Representatives from the following sub-branches:

Northern Sub-branch	(2)
Southern Sub-branch	(2)
North West Sub-branch	(2)

[2]        On 3 September 2013, FWC wrote to the Tasmanian Branch Secretary of the

Australasian Meat Industry Employees’ Union to inform him that under section 189(2) of the

Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (the Act) the prescribed information must be

lodged before the prescribed day, and that if the prescribed information was not lodged before
the prescribed day, a request for an extension of time would be required.

[3] On 11 September 2013, the Tasmanian Branch of the Australasian Meat Industry Employees’ Union lodged a written request for an extension of time for lodgement in accordance with s.189(2) of the Act. I allow a later day up to the date of actual lodgement, namely, 26 August 2013, and grant the extension requested.

[4]        I am satisfied that an election for the abovenamed offices is required to be held under

the rules of the organisation and, under subsection 189(3) of the Fair Work (Registered
[2013] FWCD 6471

Organisations) Act 2009, I am making arrangements for the conduct of the election by the

Australian Electoral Commission.
