AUDIT AMENDMENT (PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE) ACT.

Act No. 12, 1925.

An Act to make further provision for the nomina­ tion, election and appointment of the Public Accounts Commit tee; to enable that Com­ mittee to be nominated, elected and appointed for the twenty-seventh Parl iament; to amend the Audit Act, 1902 ; and for purposes con­ nected therewith. the same, as follows :—

1 . This Act may be cited as the " Audit Amendment (Public Accounts Committee) Act, 1925."

2. The Audit Act, 1902, is amended by omitting subsection nine of section sixteen and by inserting in lieu thereof the following new subsection:—

(9) Where the first session of any Parliament has expired within thirty days of its commencement without a committee having been appointed the nomination, election and appointment of the com­ mittee shall take place in the manner aforesaid within thirty days after the next meeting of

The nomination, election and appointment of the members of the Public Accounts Committee lor th»e present (twenty-seventh) Parliament may, notwith- standing any tiling in the Audit Act, 1902, as amended by this Act, be made and held under and in the maimer 'prescribed by the said Act within thirty days from the commencement of this Act.
