B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as "The Auctioneers Short title and Commission Agents Acts Amendment Act of 1940," and . and shall be read as one with *" The Auctioneers and constructIOn. Commission Agents Acts, 1923 to 1936," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively Collective cited as " The Auctioneers and Commission Agents Acts, title. 1923 to 1940." * 13 Geo. V. The proviso to section six of the Principal of s. 6. Act is repealed and the following provisoes are inserted in lieu thereof, namely :- " Provided that no district auctioneer's license shall be issued for or be in force within the district of Brisbane or within any district or part of a district constituted by the area of any of the following cities, namely:-Ipswich, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, or TownsviIIe, or within any other district or part of a district specified in that behalf by the Governor in Council by Order in Council published in the Gazette : Provided further, that where part only of a district is constituted or specified as hereinbefore prescribed, a district auctioneer's license may, subject to this Act, be issued for the remaining part of such district, which district auctioneer's license shall be in force for such remaining part only, and any reference in this Act to a " district" shall in respect of any district auctioneer's license issued in respect of any such remaining part of a district as aforesaid be read and construed as a reference to the remaining part concerned."
