An Ordinance to amend and make perpe- tual the present Laws relativeto Auction- eers and Auction Duties.

HEREAS an Act was passed in the third year of the reign of

censing of Auctioneers and the collection of Duties on property sold by Auction," which said Act was amended and continued for the period of five years, by an Act passed for that purpose in the sixth year of the reign of Her Majesty, which said period is about to ex-

Aire: and whereas it is expedient that the said Act should be made perpetual ;—Be it therefore enacted, by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, that the said Acts shall (except as hereinafter amended) be and the same are hereby made perpetual.

Sheriff need not employ II. PROVIDED always and be it enacted, that it shall not be

incumbent on the Sheriff toemploy a licensed auctioneer to sell any

estate, goods, or chattels under execution.

grant a permission to or Sub-Collector of Revenue, on payment to him of a fee of one gui- Auctioneer to sell by De" nea, to grant a temporary permission in writing to any licensed Auc-play.

signature of his principal, who shall be equally responsible in case of

every such sale by Deputy as if the same had been effected by him-

self in person, and that every such permission shall be deemed to au-

thorise any number of sales on account of different owners on the

same day.
