Attorney General Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 – Preliminary1.Citation

These regulations are the Attorney General Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

• (a)

  Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

• (b)

  the rest of the regulations — on 1 July 2025.

Part 2 – Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Regulations 2022 amended3.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Regulations 2022.

4.Regulation 35 amended

Delete regulation 35(3)(f)(iv) and insert:

• (iv)

  the Information Commissioner, the Information Access Deputy Commissioner or the Privacy Deputy Commissioner established by the Information Commissioner Act 2024;

   

Part 3 – Sentencing Regulations 1996 amended5.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Sentencing Regulations 1996.

6.Schedule 2 amended

• (1)

  In Schedule 2 in the item relating to the Freedom of Information Act 1992 delete “82(2),”.

• (2)

  In Schedule 2 insert the following items in alphabetical order:

   

Information Commissioner Act 2024 s. 33(1)

Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 s. 208(2), 215
