AN ACT to amend the Associations Incorporation

Act, 1895-1955.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title

and citation. 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Associations

Incorporation Act Amendment Act, 1957.

(2) In this Act the Associations Incorporation Act,

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Associations Incorporation Act, 1895-1957.

2.    Section three of the principal Act is amended amended.

by deleting subsection (2) and substituting therefor

the following subsection:

(2) The trustee or person shall, after filing the memorial and the rules and regulations or Trust or Settlement deed of the Association as the case may be, cause to be published twice, at an interval of not less than seven nor more than fourteen days, in a newspaper approved by the Registrar and circulating in the district men- tioned in the memorial as that in which the Association is situated or established, a notice in the prescribed form, the first of such publi- cations to be made within twenty-eight days of such filing.

3. Section seven of the principal Act is amended amended.

by

(a)	substituting for the word "seven" in line four of paragraph (b) of subsection (1) the word "fourteen";
(b)	substituting for the words "approved by the Registrar published in Perth in the State and circulating throughout the State" in lines six, seven and eight of paragraph (b) of subsection (1) the words "approved by the Registrar and circulating in the district mentioned in the memorial for incorpora- tion of the Association as that in which the Association is situated or established."
