AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Associations Incorporation Ordinance

1953-1954.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the

Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal

Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910-1955, as follows:—

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Associations short title

Incorporation Ordinance 1956.* '" '

(2.) The Associations Incorporation Ordinance 1953-1954f, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Associations Incorporation Ordinance 1953-1956.

2. The Associations Incorporation Ordinance 1953-1954 is amended by inserting after section eight the following section:—

" 8 A . An incorporated association may, subject to the rules of Power to borrow

the association— S E 4 5 ' 1 " 3

(a) raise or borrow money upon such terms and in such

manner as it thinks fit; and

(6) secure the repayment of money so raised or borrowed, or the payment of a debt or liability of the association, by giving mortgages, charges or securities upon or over all or any of the real or personal property of the association.".
