An Act to amend " The Associations Incorporation

Act, 1858."

HEREAS it is expedient to amend '' The Associations Incor- Preamble.

Enacted by thc Govenlor of thc Province of South Australia, with

W poration Act, 186F," as hereinafter provided-Be it therefore

the advice and consent of the J,cgislativc Council and Housc of Assembly of the said province, in this prcscnt Parliament assembled,

as follows:

1. Section 2 of " The Associations Incorporation Act, 1858," hendmentof section

is amended by the striking out of the words " every such person,

and by the insertion, in lieu thereof, of the words 'c all such persons or such one or more of thcm, as shall be fixed hy the rules of the institution."

2. Section 3 of the said Act shall be read and construed as if the Amendment of see-

word " mortgage " were inserted therein, in Part IV. of the said "" 3*

section, in line three, after the word sell," and as if the word

" mortgages " had been inserted in the said section after the word

" conveyances," and as if, at the end of the said section, the follow- ing words were inserted, and otherwise deal with. the samc as fully and effectually as an individual owner could do," subject only to such limitations, if any, ss may be fixed by the rules of the institution.

provisions of the said " The Associations Incorporation Act, 1E58," and in respect of the validity of which no legal proceedings are at present pending, shall be valid and effectual, and the powers of such institution shall not be deemed to have been suspended, notwith- standing that only some of the sealholders of any such institution have countersigned any deed, instrument, or document to which the lseal of such institution shall be fixed, or have verified the rules and regulations and trusts of such institution, or any additions or altera- tions thereto.
