B E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The Art Union short title. Regulation Acts Amendment Act of 1956.” (2.) *“ The Art Union Regulation Acts, 1930 to 1954,” Principal are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Act‘ (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be Collective collectively cited as “ The Art Union Regulation Acts, tltle- 1930 to 1956.” 2. Section two of the Principal Act is amended by Amendment inserting before the definition of the term “ Gamingof s-2- Acts ” therein the following definition :— “ “ Clerk of petty sessions”— A person appointed cierkof permanently or temporarily to be, and in factions, performing the duties of, clerk of petty sessions at a place appointed for holding courts of petty sessions ; 3. Section twenty of the Principal Act is amended Amendment by adding thereto the following subsections :— of s' 20‘ “ (4.) Where, by or under this Act, the exercise of a power or the performance of a duty of the Minister is dependent upon the opinion, belief, or state of mind of the Minister in relation to any matter or class of matters, that power may be exercised or the duty performed upon the opinion, belief, or state of mind of the person to whom it is delegated or deemed to be delegated by or under this section. * 21 G. 5 No. 11 and amending Acts.

The Minister may make such and so many delegations under this section and to such number of officers as he may consider necessary or desirable. ( 6 .) The provisions of this Act, with all necessary adaptations thereof, shall be read so as to give effect to every delegation made or deemed to be made by or under this section. Statutory (7.) Without the necessity of any instrument of dcleelrekgsatoiofn to delegation in that behalf and without prejudice to the petty power of the Minister to grant, pursuant to section five speoswsieorntsoof of this Act, the permits mentioned in this subsection or grant permits for the conducting of other lotteries referred to cpoenrmduitcst to in that section or to make delegations (whether to any certain clerk of petty sessions or other officers whomsoever) lotteries. under subsection one of this section, every clerk of petty sessions, designated from time to time or at any time in that behalf by regulations, shall be deemed at all times to have delegated to him by the Minister the power, conferred by section five of this Act on the Minister, to grant permits to conduct raffles and guessing competitions in such cases and for such purposes and subject to such terms, conditions, and stipulations as may be prescribed.” 5 N E o l . iz 1 . 7 I . (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The Suppression of Gambling Acts Amendment Act of 1956.” Principal (2.) *“ The Suppression of Gambling Acts, 1895 to Act. 1936,” are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Collective (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be title. collectively cited as “ The Suppression of Gambling Acts, 1895 to 1956.” * 59 V. No. 9 and amending Acts.
