AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Architects Ordinance 1959-1970.

Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of I THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth , of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Government (Administration) Act 1910-1970.

ARCHITECTS ORDINANCE 1971

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Architects Ordin­

ance 1971.*

(2.) The Architects Ordinance 1959-1970t is in this Ordinance

referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance,

may be cited as the Architects Ordinance 1959-1971.

2.  Section 8 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-section (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-sections:—

"(2.) Subject to the next succeeding sub-section, there is payable to a member in respect of his attendance at a meeting of the Board—

19. 1970.
(a) if his attendance is of a duration of less than three hours—a fee of Twenty dollars; or
(b) in any other case—a fee of Thirty-five dollars.

" (2A.) There is payable to the Chairman in respect of his attendance at a meeting of the Board, and to the Deputy Chairman in respect of his attendance at a meeting of the Board at which he, in the absence of the Chairman, presides—

(a)

if his attendance is of a duration of less than three hours—a fee of Twenty-five dollars; or

(b) in any other case—a fee of Forty dollars."; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:—
" (4.) This section does not apply to the Chairman,
the Deputy Chairman or a member if he is an officer or

employee of the Public Service of the Commonwealth or of

an authority of the Commonwealth.".

3. Section 28 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting the words " an architect or that he carries on the practice of archi­ tecture " and inserting in their stead the words " an architect (other than a landscape architect, naval architect or golf course architect) or that he carries on the practice of architecture (other than land­ scape architecture, naval architecture or golf course architecture) ".
