Approval of an Alternative Means of Compliance (AMOC) with paragraph (i)(2) of Federal Aviation Administration Airworthiness Directive (FAA AD) 2014-05-29
Application
This instrument applies to the registered operator of an aircraft with Continental Motors Inc. (CMI) reciprocating engine(s) with replacement Superior Air Parts, Inc. (SAP) investment cast cylinder assemblies as identified in paragraphs (c)(1), (c)(2) and (c)(3) of FAA AD 2014-05-29 (the AD), as in force immediately before the commencement of this instrument.
Approval
The registered operator is approved to use the following means of compliance with paragraph (i)(2) of the AD, for applicable cylinders that have not reached the hourly time in service but have reached the calendar time in service expressed in CMI Service Information Letter SIL98-9 Revision C, as in force on 17 July 2013:
(a)Compliance with SAP Service Bulletin (SB) B14-01 Revision E as in force on 12 August 2020.
Note: All other requirements of the AD must be complied with.
Expiry
This instrument ceases to have effect if either of the following instruments is amended or cancelled:
(a)FAA AD 2014-05-29, Amendment 39-17801; or
(b)SAP SB B14-01 Revision E, dated 12 August 2020.
