An Act for the appropriation of $40 491 000 out of the Public Account for the services of the Government for the financial year ending on 30 June 2024

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Supplementary Appropriation for 2023-24) Act 2023. 2CommencementThis Act is taken to have commenced on 1 July 2023. 3InterpretationFor the purposes of this Act – Capital Services means – (a) public works or property required for public purposes; or (b) a loan authorised by law; Operating Services means the ordinary annual services of the Government. 4Issue, application and appropriation of $40 491 000 (1)  In respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 2024, the Treasurer may – (a) issue the sum of $40 491 000 out of the Public Account; and (b) apply that sum for the services of the Government. (2)  The sum specified in subsection (1)(a) is appropriated. 5Purposes of appropriationThe sum specified in section 4(1)(a) is to be applied for the purposes referred to in Schedule 1 and detailed in either of the following: (a) the agency information in support of the estimates for the financial year ending on 30 June 2024; (b) the information tabled by the Minister in support of Schedule 1. 6Expiry of ActThis Act expires on 30 June 2025.
