An Act to appropriate certain sums out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to the sums appropriated by the Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Act 1990-91, for certain expenditure, in relation to the Parliamentary Departments, in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1991, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Act (No. 2) 1990-91.

Commencement

2. This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Issue and application of $1 933 000

3. The Minister for Finance may issue out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund and apply for the services specified in the Schedule, in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1991, the sum of $1 933 000.

Appropriation of $1 933 000

4. The sum authorised by this Act to be issued out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund is appropriated, and shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from 1 July 1990, for the services specified in the Schedule in respect of the financial year that commenced on that day.

Additional appropriation in respect of increases in salaries

5. Section 5 of the Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Act 1990-91 has effect, on and from the commencement of this Act as if the reference to Schedule 2 to that Act included a reference to the Schedule to this Act.

Net annotated appropriations

6. Where the description of the purpose of an appropriation set out in an item, subdivision or Division of the Schedule concludes with the words "(net appropriation — see section 6)", that Schedule is taken, for the purposes of this Act and the Audit Act 1901, to provide that all money received:

  1. (a)

    from the sale, leasing or hiring out of or other dealing with, goods or personal property; or

  2. (b)

    from the sale of real property used for the purpose of providing staff residential accommodation or from the leasing of real property for that purpose; or

(c)

from the provision of services;

may be credited to that item, subdivision or Division, to such extent as is, and on such conditions as are, agreed between the Presiding Officer or Presiding Officers responsible for the Department for which the appropriation is made and the Minister for Finance.
