Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2022 (NSW)

An Act to appropriate out of the Consolidated Fund a sum for the services of the Legislature for the year 2022–23.

Part 1Preliminary1Name of Act

This Act is the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2022.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the date of assent to this Act.

3Definitions(1)

In this Act—

services includes the following—

• (a)

  recurrent services,

• (b)

  capital works and services,

• (c)

  repayment of debt.

year 2022–23 means the year from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

A reference in the Government Sector Finance Act 2018 to an annual Appropriation Act includes a reference to this Act.

Part 2Appropriation for Legislature4Appropriation for services of Legislature

This Act appropriates the sum of $239,251,000 to the Legislature out of the Consolidated Fund for the services of the Legislature for the year 2022–23.

The appropriation will fund services, as follows—

Part 3General5Payments authorised on lapse of appropriation(1)

This section applies only if this Act is assented to after 1 July 2022.

(2)

An amount is taken to have been expended out of a sum appropriated for a purpose by this Act if the amount—

• (a)

  was paid for the purpose out of the Consolidated Fund under the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, section 4.10, and

• (b)

  was paid on or after 1 July 2022 and before the date of assent to this Act.
