An Act to appropriate additional money for the purposes of the Territory for the financial year that began on 1 July 2000, and for other purposes

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Part 1Preliminary
Name of Act
This Act is the Appropriation (HIH) Act 2000-2001.
Commencement
This Act commences on the day it is notified in the Gazette.
Part 2Appropriation
Purposes
This part is made for the purposes of—
(a)the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988 (Cwlth), sections 57 and 58; and
(b)the Financial Management Act 1996, section 6.
Words and expressions used in Financial Management Act
A word or expression used in the Financial Management Act 1996 has the same meaning in this part.
Additional appropriation of $33 814 000
The amount of $33 814 000 is appropriated to the Department of Urban Services for additional payments to be made on behalf of the Territory in the financial year that began on 1 July 2000 for the appropriation unit mentioned in the Appropriation Act 2000-2001, schedule 1, part 9, column 2.

25ATerritory contributions to fund
The Territory may contribute to the fund.
However, the Territory is not obliged to contribute to the fund and is not liable to pay, or contribute to the payment of, any claim against the fund or any costs, expenses, fees or other amounts payable by the fund.
25BRepayment of Territory contributions to fund
If the Territory has made a contribution to the fund that has not been repaid to the Territory in full and the Treasurer is satisfied the fund contains an amount (the surplus amount) that is not needed to meet reasonably foreseeable claims against the fund, the Treasurer may in writing direct the manager to repay to the Territory so much of the Territory contribution as is not more than the surplus amount.
On receiving a direction under subsection (1), the manager must pay to the Territory the amount stated in the direction.
