CONSTITUTION. 3 E liz . II. No. 39, 1954. Appropriation Acts. 27 An Act to Apply certain Sums of Money out of the s|™39“- Consolidated Revenue Fund to the Service of the Years ending on the last days of June, Ti°9|w|55? 1955 and 1956, and certain Further Sums to the Service of the Year ended on the last day of June, 1954, and to Appropriate the Supplies granted in the last and present Sessions of Parliament. [A ssented to 22 nd N ovember , 1954.] M ost G racious S overeign ,— YTJE, Your Majesty’s most dutiful and loyal subjects, Preamble. V V the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parlia­ ment assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully granted to Your Majesty in the last and present Sessions of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the sums hereinafter mentioned, and do therefore beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :— 1. In addition to the several sums specified in the Appropria- Parts marked respectively A, B, C, D, and E of the [Schedule, Schedule to this Act, and which sums are payable under PartsA,B’,c, the authority of the several Acts in those Parts respec-D’811(1 tively mentioned, there shall and may be issued and applied, towards making good the supplies granted to Her Majesty for the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five, the sums following, inclusive of the two sums of Twenty-three million five hundred thousand pounds and Thirty-three million five hundred thousand pounds already authorised to be applied towards the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five, by *“ The Appropriation Act of 1953-1954, No. 2,” and The Appropriation Act of 1954-1955, No. 1,” respectively, that is to say,— From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens­ land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), the sum of * 2 Eliz. 2 No. 18. t 3 Eliz. 2 No. 20.

No. 39, Sixty-two million eight hundred and ten thousand six hundred and six pounds ; From the Trust and Special Funds, the sum of Forty-eight million two hundred and thirty-nine thousand eight hundred and eighteen pounds ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, the sum of Twenty-one million seven hundred and seventy-four thousand pounds ; Appropria­ tion. 2. There shall and may be issued and applied towards making good the supplies granted to Her Majesty for the services of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-six, the sums following, that is to say,— From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens* land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), the sum of Twelve million pounds ; From the Trust and Special Funds, the sum of Eight million pounds ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, the sum of Three million five hundred thousand pounds. Appropria­ tion of sums 3* The sums granted by the first section of this Act voted for and by *“The Appropriation Act of 1953-1954, No. 2,” sSeurpvpicleys. and f“The Appropriation Act of 1954-1955, No. 1,” and [Schedule, which are set forth in the Parts marked respectively F, G, Parts F, G, and H of the Schedule to this Act, amounting as and H.] appears by the said Parts in all to the sum of One hundred and thirty-two million eight hundred and twenty-four thousand four hundred and twenty-four pounds, are appropriated, and shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, for the purposes and services expressed in the said Parts F, G, and H respectively. Supple­ mentary appropria­ tion, 1953­ 1954. 4. There shall and may be issued and applied the further sums following, that is to say,— From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens­ land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), a further * 2 Eliz. 2 No. 18. t 3 Eliz. 2 No. 20.

Appropriation Acts. sum of Three million seven hundred and sixty-two thousand seven hundred and eleven pounds ten shillings and seven pence ; From the Trust and Special Funds, a further sum of Eight hundred and twenty thousand eight hundred and ninety-four pounds seventeen shillings and ten pence ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, a further sum of Three million seven hundred and fifteen thousand four hundred and twenty-seven pounds eight shillings and eleven pence ; to defray Supplementary Charges for the service of the year ended on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, and such sums shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-three, for the purposes and services expressed in the Parts marked [Schedule, I, J, and K of the Schedule to this Act. fn^K1]’J’ 5 The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said several Treasurer to sums, for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned, to such ^ directed* persons, upon such days, and in such proportions as the by warrant. Governor, by any warrant or order under his hand and directed to the Treasurer, from time to time orders and directs, and the payments so made shall be charged upon and be payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queensland. 6. The Treasurer shall in his accounts from time to Treasur rto time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money creditor*1 paid by him in pursuance of any such warrants or orders, sums paid in and the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to Warrant?6 °f whom the moneys are paid shall be a valid discharge to the Treasurer in passing his accounts for any sum therein mentioned, and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly. 7. The issue or application of any part or parts of Ind9mnity* the said sums of Three million seven hundred and sixty-two thousand seven hundred and eleven pounds ten shillings and seven pence, Eight hundred and twenty thousand eight hundred and ninety-four pounds seventeen shillings and ten pence, and Three million seven hundred and fifteen thousand four hundred and

No. 39, [Schedule, Parts I, J, and K.j twenty-seven pounds eight shillings and eleven pence, which has been made before the passing of this Act for the purposes expressed in the Parts marked I, J, and K of the Schedule to this Act, is hereby authorised and sanctioned, and the Treasurer is hereby indemnified against all claims and liabilities in respect of any such issue or application. E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, B by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as The Governor's Salary Acts Amendment Act of 1955.” Principal Act. Collective title. ( 2 .) The Governor's Salary Acts, 1872 to 1953,” are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as The Governor's Salary Acts, 1872 to 1955.” Repeal of 2. Section 4 a of the Principal Act is repealed and s a . n 4 d a n . ew the following section is inserted in lieu of that repealed section:— # Amount of “ [4 a .] The salary of the Governor of Queensland 8alary. shall be, and it is hereby declared always was to be, on and after the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, at the rate of four thousand six hundred and eighty-eight pounds per annum.
