VATE, Your Majesty’s most dutiful and loyal subjects, V V the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parlia­ ment assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully granted to Your Majesty in the last and present Sessions of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the sums hereinafter mentioned, and do therefore beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :— Appropria­ 1. In addition to the several sums specified in the t[iSocnh. edule, Parts marked respectively A, B, C, D, and E of the PartsA,B,C, Schedule to this Act, and which sums are payable under D, and E.] the authority of the several Acts in those Parts respec­ tively mentioned, there shall and may be issued and applied, towards making good the supplies granted to Her Majesty for the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, the sums following, inclusive of the two sums of Twenty-one million Five hundred thousand pounds and Thirty-four million pounds already authorised to be applied towards the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, by *“ The Appropriation Act of 1952-1953, No. 2,” and f“ The Appropriation Act of 1953-1954, No. 1,” respectively, that is to say,— From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens­ land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), the sum of * 1 Eliz. 2 No. 41. f 2 Eliz. 2 No. I.

Appropriation Acts. 65 Fifty-eight million five hundred and. eighty thousand five hundred and eighty-five pounds; ' From the Trust and Special Funds, the sum of Forty-three million five hundred and ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven pounds ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, the sum of Nineteen million eight hundred and fifty thousand pounds. 2. There shall and may be issued and applied Appropria. towards making good the supplies granted to Her Majesty Ion’ for the services of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five, the sums following, that is to say,— From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens* land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), the sum of Twelve million pounds; From the Trust and Special Funds, the sum of Eight million pounds ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, the sum of Three million five hundred thousand pounds. 3. The sums granted by the first section of this Act Appropria- and by *“The Appropriation Act of 1952-1953, No. 2,”totedfor”18 and f “The Appropriation Act of 1953-1954, No. 1,” and Supply which are set forth in the Parts marked respectively F, G, !!I7I<T'I and H of the Schedule to this Act, amounting aspartsF, g , appears by the said Parts in all to the sum ofand H-1 One hundred and twenty-two million thirty thousand five hundred and seventy-two pounds, are appropriated, and shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-three, for the purposes and services expressed in the said Parts F, G, and H respectively. 4. No. 18, sum of Two million one hundred and forty-five thousand and forty-seven pounds eight shillings and one penny ; From the Trust and Special Funds, a further sum of One million six hundred and eight thousand seven hundred and thirty-six pounds one shilling and eight pence ; From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, a further sum of Two million sixty-eight thousand four hundred and thirty-one pounds thirteen shillings and five pence; to defray Supplementary Charges for the service of the year ended on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-three, and such sums shall he deemed to have been appropriated as from the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-two, for the purposes and services expressed in the Parts marked [Schedule, I J, and K of the Schedule to this Act. The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said several as directed8 sums> f°r the purposes hereinbefore mentioned, to such by warrant, persons, upon such days, and in such proportions as the Governor, by any warrant or order under his hand and directed to the Treasurer, from time to time orders and directs, and the payments so made shall he charged upon and be payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queensland. The Treasurer shall in his accounts from time to ored|10ford ^me a^owec^ credit for any sum or sums of money sunJpaid in paid by him in pursuance of any such warrants or orders, pursuance of and the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to warrant. wh0m the moneys are paid shall be a valid discharge to the Treasurer in passing his accounts for any sum therein mentioned, and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly. indemnity. 7. The issue or application of any part or parts of the said sums of Two million one hundred and forty-five thousand and forty-seven pounds eight shillings and one penny, One million six hundred and eight thousand seven hundred and thirty-six pounds one shilling and eight pence, and Two million sixty-eight thousand four hundred and thirty-one pounds thirteen shillings and five pence, which has been made before the passing of
