COMMONWEALTH AND STATES-CONSTITUTION. 8 GEO. VI. No. 2, 1944. Appropriation Acts. INDEMNITY. 16. Each State agrees with the Commonwealth that it will by the faithful performance of its obligations under this Agreement indemnify the Commonwealth against all liabilities whatsoever in respect of the public debt of that State taken over by the Common- wealth as aforesaid (other than the liabilities of the Commonwealth under this Agreement to pay interest and to make sinking fund con- tributions and under Clause 13 of this Agreement), and in respect of all loans of that State in respect of which this Agreement provides that sinking fund contributions shall be made.
