An Act to Authorise the Appropriation out of the THE ApPROPRIATION Oonsolidated Revenue Fund of Queensland of ACT OF 1938-1939, No. 1. Further Sums of Money towards the Service of the Year ending on the Thirtieth Day of June, 1939, and for other purposes. [ASSENTED TO 12TH AUGUST, 1938.] Preamble. "{-XT HEREAS we, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal l' l subjects, the members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, have in the present Session of Parliament cheerfully granted to Your Majesty the several sums hereinafter mentioned towards the services of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, in addition to the sums already gra.nted during the last Session of Parliament towards the same services: And whereas we desire to make good out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queensland the sums granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - Appropria- 1. 1938, CONSTITUTION, Appropriation Acts, 16953 One million three hundred thousand pounds already .applied from the Trust and Special Funds, and Six hundred thousand pounds already applied from the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account towards the services of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, by *" The Appropriation Act of 1937-1938, No. 2," there shall and may be issued and applied, towards making good the supplies granted to His Majesty for the services of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, the sums following, that is to say,-- From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens- land (exclusive of the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account), the sum of Three million pounds; From the Trust and Special Funds, the sum of Two million two hundred thousand pounds; and From the moneys standing to the credit of the Loan Fund Account, the sum of Seven hundred and fifty thousand pounds. 2. The Treasurer of the State shall issue and pay the Treasurer to said several sums for the purposes hereinbefore mentio~ ed, ~: ~ {: ~ ~~ : ~B to such persons, upon such days, and in such proportIOns by warrant, as the Governor, by any warrant or order in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer, shall from time to time order and direct, and the payments so made shall be charged upon and be payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State. 3. 16954 CONSTITUTION. Appropriation Acts. 2 GEO. VI. No. 1, 1938. Further enactments. 4. Be it further enacted as follows : - Construction (1.) It is hereby declared that *" The Police Act of of the Act 1937" never has extended or applied and never shall ~ ~ ef2. VI. extend or apply to the widow, or widow and children, or children of a person (whether a deceased married member of the Police Force or a pensioner) who became a member of the Police Force before the Thirteenth day of November, One thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, or who died before the Fourth day of October, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and that no such widow, or widow and children, or children ever has or have been or shall be entitled to any payment by way of superannuation or otherwise howsoever under the said Act: Provided that any right or claim which any such widow, or widow and children, or children had under any Act repealed by the said Act shall continue as if no such repeal had been made. Amendment (2.) Section twenty-four oft "The Public Ourator Acts~ of the Act 1915 to 1926," is amended by inserting after the word 6NoG.e 1 o 4 .
