8444 CHILDREN.-CONSTITUTION. Appropriation Acts. 9 GEO. V. No. 1, (ii.) In sections seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, and nineteen, the word "Commissioner" wherever it occurs is repealed, and the word "Director" is in- serted in lieu thereof; (iii.) In subsection four of section nine, after the words "upon demand by," the words "any authorised officer of the State Children Department or" are inserted. (2.) The Commissioner of Police shall, forthwith after the passing of this Act, hand over to the Director State Children Department all records and registers and other documents in his power or possession made or kept for the purposes of the Principal Act. (3.) For all purposes of the Principal Act, all regis- ters, orders, direction~ , and notices made or given by or by direction of the said Commissioner under the Principal Act, and subsisting at the date of the passing of this Act, shall be deemed to have been made and given by or by the direction of the said Director, and all notices and documents given to or served on the said Commissioner shall be deemed to have been given to or served on the said Director, and the said Director may continue and complete any matter or thing begun by the said .Com- missioner. WHEREAS we, your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assempled, have in the present Session of Parliament cheerfully granted to your Majesty the several sums hereinafter mentioned towards the services·
