An Act to Apply certain Sums of Money out of the N~ ; ; t Consolidated Revenue Fund to the Service of :r~~R1~ ~ I; ; the Year ending on the last day of June, 1910, 19: / ~ ~ O, and certain further Sums to the Service of the Year ended on the last day of June, 1909, and to Appropriate the Supplies granted in the last and the present Sessions of Palliament. [ASSENTED TO 28TH DECEMBER, 1909.] Preamble. MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN,- W E, your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parlia- ment assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully gmnted to your Majesty in the last and the present Sessions of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto your Majesty the sums hereinafter mentioned, and do therefore beseech your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, hy and with the advice' and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in I)arliament assembled, and by the authority. of the same, as follows :- Appropria.- 1. In addition to the several sums specified in the } i~ cl; edule Parts marked respectively A, n, C, and D of the Schedule to Parts~ , E, C, this Act, and which sums are payable under the authority and D.] of the several Acts in those Parts respectively mentioned, there shall and may be issued and applied, towards making good the supplies granted to His Majesty for the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and ten, the sums following, inclusive of the four several sums of Two hundred and thirty-five thousand . pounds, Three hundred and fifteen thousand pounds, Nine hundred and ninety thousand pounds, and Five hundred and twenty thousand pounds already authorised to be applied towards the service of the year ending on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and ten, by "'l'he Approp1 o iation Act of HW9-uno, No. 1," "'Phe Appropriation Act of 1909-1910, No. 2," "The Appro- priation Act of 1909-1910, No. 3," and " Tile Appropria- tion Act ot 1909-1910, No. 4,"* that is to say,- From the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Queens- land, exclusive of the moneys standing to the • !J Edw. No. 5, (Schedule, Parts T, K, and L.J· to defray Supplementary Charges for the service of the said year ended on the last day of June, One thousand nine hundred and nine, and such sums shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and eight, for the purposes and services expressed in the Parts marked I, K, and L of the Schedule to this Act. The issue or application of any part or parts of the said sums of One hundred and ninety-six thousand seven hundred and forty-eight pounds ten shillings and one penny, Eighteen thousand and seventy-six pounds thirteen shillings and ten pence, and Eighty-seven thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven pounds and ten pence, which has been made before the passing of this Act for the purposes expressed in thc Parts marked I, K, and L of the Schedule to this Act, is hereby authorised and sanctioned, and the rTreasurer is hereby indemnified against· all claims and liabilities in respect of any such issue or application. Short tiU". 1. This Act may be cited as " The Workers' DweUings Act.of 1909." Interpreta. tion. 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms .have the meanings respectively assigned to them, t.hat is to say- " Board "-The Workers' Dwellings Board con- stituted under this Act; "Dwelling-house" includes the house and its appurtenances, necessary outbuUdings, fences, and permanent provision for lighting, water supply, and drainage, but does not include any land; " Minister"-The Treasurer or other responsible Minister of the Crown charged for the tiIl}.e being with the administration of this Act; "Prescribed "-Prescribed by this Act; H Regulations "-Regulations made under the authority of this Act; "This Act "-This Act and all RegulatipDs there~ under for the time being in force .
