An Act to appropriate and apply out of the Con­ solidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales certain Sums to make good the Supplies granted for the Service of the year from the 1st day of J u l y , 1907, to the 30th day of June , 1908, inclusive of both dates; to adjust the vote "Advance to Treasurer, Consolidated Revenue Fund, 1906-1907," for supplementary charges during the period from 1st J u l y , 1906, to 30th dune, 1907, inclusive of both dates; to provide

for Public Works and other Services out of

the Public Works Fund; to adjust the vote "Advance to Treasurer, Public Works Fund,

December, 1907.] W H E R E A S

1906-7 ," for supplementary charges during

the period from 1st J u l y , 1900, to 30th dune,

1907, inclusive of both dates ; and to provide for services out of the Closer Settlement

Fund; and for purposes connected with and incidental to the above objects. [20th

in Parl iament assembled, have granted to Your Majes ty the several WH E R E A S we Your Majesty 's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Members of the Legislat ive Assembly of New South Wales

sums hereinafter mentioned for the service of the year from the first day of J u l y , one thousand nine hundred and seven, to the thirtieth day of J u n e , one thousand nine hundred and eight (inclusive of both dates), and for supplementing the grants made by the last Parl iament, in its Third Session, in adjustment of the vote " Advance to Treasurer, Consolidated Revenue Fund, 1906-1907 , " for charges during the period from the first day of J u l y , one thousand nine hundred and six, to the thirtieth day of June , one thousand nine hundred and seven (inclusive of both dates) , to be provided for out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, and on account of Public Works and other Services to be provided for out of the Public Works Fund, and for supple­ menting the vote ' 'Advance to Treasurer, Public Works Fund, 190(5-7," for charges during the period from the first day of J u l y , one thousand nine hundred and six, to the thirtieth day of June , one thousand nine hundred and seven (inclusive of both dates), and for services to be provided for out of the Closer Settlement Fund : And whereas we desire to make good out of the said Funds the several sums granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid : Be it therefore enacted by the King 's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislat ive Council and Legis la t ive Assembly of the State of New South Wales in Par l iament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

appropriated, and are hereby appropriated, and shall be issued and applied for or towards the several uses and purposes hereinafter expressed—

3. Out of the Closer Settlement Fund there shall he appro­ priated, and arc hereby appropriated, and shall be issued and applied for or towards the several uses and purposes hereinafter expressed :— Any sum or sums of money not exceeding Four hundred thousand pounds :—

4. The Colonial Treasurer shall issue and pay the said several sums to such persons for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by any warrant or order in wri t ing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer may from time to t ime order and direct, and the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the said funds respect ive ly ; but the said Treasurer shall not b e h e l d liable for any claims which may arise in connect ion with any of the State Depart­ ments transferred to the Commonwealth on or after the date of such transfer.

5. The said Treasurer shall in his Accounts from time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order in writ ing as aforesaid, and the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to whom the same are so paid shall he a full and valid discharge to the said Treasurer in passing his said Accounts for any such sum or sums as may be therein mentioned, and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.

6. This Act may be cited as the "Appropriation Act of 1907-
