An Act to appropriate and apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales certain Sums to make good the Supplies granted for the Service of the Year 187i and for the Year 1870 and pre­ vious Years. [22nd June, 1871.]

WH E R E A S we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects the Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled have granted to Your Majesty the several

sums hereinafter mentioned for the service of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one and for supplementing the Grants made by the present Parliament in its Second Session for the service of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy and previous years And whereas we desire; to make good out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales the several sums granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same That out of the said Consolidated Revenue Fund there shall be further appropriated and are hereby appropriated and shall be issued and applied for or towards the several uses and purposes hereafter expressed—

X. The Treasurer of the said Colony shall issue and pay the said several sums to such persons for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by any warrant or order in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer shall from time to time order and direct and the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the Consoli­ dated Revenue Fund of the said Colony.

XI. The said Treasurer shall in his Accounts from time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such warrant or order in writing as aforesaid and the receipt or receipts of the respective persons to

Treasurer in passing his said Accounts for any such sum or sums as shall be therein whom the same shall be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to the said mentioned and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.

XII . Nothing in this Act contained shall affect or in any manner alter or

vary any of the provisions contained in the Act thirty-three Victoria number
eighteen intituled the " Audit Act of 1870."

XII I . This Act may be cited as the " Appropriation Act of 1871."
