Appropriation Act (No. 3) 1982‑83

An Act to appropriate a sum out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to the sum appropriated by the Appropriation Act (No. 1) 1982‑83, for the service of the year ending on 30 June 1983

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act (No. 3) 1982‑83.

Commencement

2.This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Issue and application of $211,338,000

3.The Minister for Finance may issue out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund and apply for the services specified in the Schedule, in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1983, the sum of $211,338,000.

Appropriation

4.The sum authorized by this Act to be issued out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund is appropriated, and shall be deemed to have been appropriated as from 1 July 1982, for the services specified in the Schedule in respect of the financial year that commenced on that date.

Additional appropriation in respect of increases in salaries

5. Section 5 of the Appropriation Act (No. 1) 1982‑83 has effect, on and from the commencement of this Act, as if the reference in that section to Schedule 2 to that Act included a reference to the Schedule to this Act.

Act subject to Loan Act

6. This Act has effect subject to the Loan Act (No. 2) 1982.

(a) to make advances that will be. recovered during the financial year, in respect of expenditure that is expenditure for the ordinary annual services of the Government;

(b) to make moneys available for expenditure—

(i) that the Minister for Finance is satisfied is expenditure that is urgently required and that was unforeseen until after the last day on which it was practicable to include appropriation for that expenditure in the Bill for the Appropriation Act (No. 1) 1982‑83 before the introduction of that Bill into the House of Representatives; and

(ii) particulars of which will afterwards be submitted to the Parliament,

being expenditure for the ordinary annual services of the Government; and

(c) to make moneys available for expenditure, being expenditure for the ordinary annual services of the Government, pending the issue of a warrant of the Governor‑General specifically applicable to the expenditure.....................................
