Queensland Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2014 Act No. 53 of 2014 An Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the consolidated fund for particular departments for the financial year starting 1 July 2013 and to amend the Wagering Act 1998 for particular purposes [Assented to 27 October 2014]

Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2014 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] The Parliament of Queensland enacts— Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2014 . Note — Under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 , section 5, words used in this Act that are defined under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 have the same meaning the words have in that Act, subject to a contrary intention in this Act. 2 Commencement Part 3 commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation. Part 2 Supplementary appropriation for 2013–14 3 Supplementary appropriation for 2013–14 based on unforeseen expenditure included in the consolidated fund financial report (1) The Treasurer is authorised to pay $441,955,000 from the consolidated fund for departments as stated in schedule 1 for the financial year starting 1 July 2013. (2) For each department, the total amount mentioned for the department in schedule 1 is appropriated for the financial year for the department for application to its departmental services, equity adjustment and administered items as stated in schedule 1. Part 3 Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2014 Part 3 Amendment of Wagering Act 1998 [s 4] Amendment of Wagering Act 1998 4 Act amended This part amends the Wagering Act 1998 . 5 Replacement of s 4 (Meaning of exclusivity period) Section 4— omit , insert — 4 Meaning of exclusivity period (1) The exclusivity period , for a race wagering licence, is the period starting on 1 July 2014 and ending— (a) 30 years after 1 July 2014; or (b) if, within the period of 30 years after 1 July 2014, a race wagering licence held by TattsBet or a TattsBet subsidiary is cancelled, surrendered or ceases to have effect for another reason (other than suspension)—on the day the licence is cancelled, surrendered or otherwise ceases to have effect. (2) The exclusivity period , for a sports wagering licence, is the period starting on 1 July 2014 and ending— (a) 30 years after 1 July 2014; or (b) if, within the period of 30 years after 1 July 2014, a sports wagering licence held by TattsBet or a TattsBet subsidiary is cancelled, surrendered or ceases to have effect for another reason (other than suspension)—on the day the licence is 2014 Act No. 53 Page 5
