An Act to appropriate additional money for the purposes of the Territory for the financial year that began on 1 July 2002, and for other purposes

Notified under the Legislation Act 2001 on 24 June 2003

(see Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Appropriation Act 2002-2003 (No 3).

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Purposes

   This Act is made for the purposes of—

   (a)the Self-Government Act, sections 57 and 58; and

   (b)the Financial Management Act 1996, section 6.

4. Words and expressions used in Financial Management Act

   A word or expression used in the Financial Management Act 1996 has the same meaning in this Act.

5. Meaning of financial year

   In this Act:

   financial year means the year that began on 1 July 2002.

6. Additional appropriations of $33 993 000

7. The amount of $67 000 is appropriated to the Legislative Assembly Secretariat for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

8. The amount of $10 842 000 is appropriated to the Chief Minister’s Department for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

9. The amount of $165 000 is appropriated to ACT Workcover for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

10. The amount of $668 000 is appropriated to Treasury for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

11. The amount of $488 000 is appropriated to InTACT for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

12. The amount of $630 000 is appropriated to ACT Forests for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

13. The amount of $7 596 000 is appropriated to the Department of Health and Community Care for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

14. The amount of $6 530 000 is appropriated to the Department of Urban Services for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

15. The amount of $5 000 is appropriated to the Department of Urban Services for additional payments to be made on behalf of the Territory in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

16. The amount of $1 281 000 is appropriated to the Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

17. The amount of $2 268 000 is appropriated to the Department of Justice and Community Safety for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

18. The amount of $113 000 is appropriated to the Department of Justice and Community Safety for additional payments to be made on behalf of the Territory in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

19. The amount of $3 340 000 is appropriated to the Department of Education, Youth and Family Services for additional net cost of providing outputs in the financial year for the appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 for that department.

20. Appropriation units and output classes

21. A group of outputs mentioned in schedule 1, column 3 is identified as a class of outputs for the Financial Management Act 1996.

22. An appropriation unit mentioned in schedule 1, column 2 consists of the classes of outputs, or the group of output classes, mentioned in column 3 of that schedule for the appropriation unit.
