No. 63 of 1958.

AN ACT to appropriate and apply out of the Consoli- dated Revenue Fund and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund and from the Public Account certain sums to make good the supplies granted for the service of the Year ending the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine, and to supplement grants made by the present Parliament during its second Session in adjustment of the Vote " Advance to Treasurer,

1957-58," for charges during the Year ended

the 30th day of June, 1958 ; and to approve of certain expenditure under section forty-one of the Forests Act, 1918-1954.

WE, Your Majesty's Most Dutiful and Loyal Sub-

jects, the Legislative Assembly of Western Aus-

tralia, in Parliament assembled, towards making

good the supply which we have cheerfully granted Your Majesty in this Session of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the Sums here- inafter mentioned, and do therefore most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted : And be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament as- sembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows (that is to say) :—

Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act,

1958-59.

Application

There shall and may be issued and applied, for or towards making good the supply granted to Her Majesty for the services of the year ending the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifty- nine, the following sums, that is to say :-

of moneys.

2.

From the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Nineteen Million Seven Hundred and Fifty-one Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-five Pounds.

From moneys to credit of the General Loan Fund, the sum of Ten Million One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Five Hundred Pounds.

From the Public Account for Advance to Treasurer the sum of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Pounds.

Appropriation 3. (1) All sums granted by this Act, and the Actsof supplies. Schedule A. mentioned in Schedule A to this Act, towards making

good the supply granted to Her Majesty, that is to

say :-

From the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Forty-eight Million Seven Hundred and Fifty-one Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-five Pounds.

From moneys to credit of the General Loan Fund the sum of Eighteen Million One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Five Hundred Pounds.

From the Public Account for Advance to Treasurer the sum of Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Pounds, and

From Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of One Million Four Hundred and Sixty-six Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety-six Pounds Fourteen Shillings and Two Pence.

From the General Loan Fund the sum of One Million Three Hundred and Seventy-two Thousand Three Hundred and Six Pounds Sixteen Shillings and Seven Pence.

To be issued, if and when required, from the Public Account, to enable the Treasurer to make advances to the public officers, also advances for the Trading Concerns, other State Undertakings, Statutory Boards and Treasury Trust Accounts, and for the resump. tion of land for resale under the provisions of the Industrial Development (Resumption of Land) Act, 1945, and to other persons, or to create Suspense Accounts for the purchase of mechanical appliances, livestock, crops, stores, materials, emergency foodstuffs and

payment of wages and cost of services (the amounts to be recovered by disposal or allo- cation to the Votes or Accounts applicable), or for payments of deposits on Contracts or on account of other Governments, etc., or for payments of an extraordinary nature. Also to pay expenses of an unforeseen nature, chargeable against the Consolidated Revenue Fund, or the General Loan Fund ; such disbursements to be transferred monthly to the respective Votes and Services, and to be shown as excesses thereon or as new items. The

appropriation may also include expenditure in excess of the provisions of any loan Act

pending statutory authority for the raising of such moneys, and the appropriation may also include expenditure on works and services pending provision being made in a Loan Act, and such expenditure, to be charged to Loan Suspense Account, to be subsequently submitted to Parliament for specific appropriation. The whole amount to be adjusted subject as hereinafter provided, not later than 30th June, 1960: Provided that expenditure incurred for minor advances to other persons and balances on Suspense Accounts may be adjusted over such periods as the Treasurer may approve-0,500,000.
