No. 52 of 1949.

AN ACT to appropriate and apply out of the Consoli- dated Revenue Fund and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund and from the Public Account certain sums to make good the supplies granted for the service of the Year ending the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and fifty, and to supplement grants made by the present Parliament during the first period of its present Session in adjustment of the Vote "Advance to Treasurer, 1948-49" for charges during the Year ended the 30th day of June, 1949 ; and to approve of certain expenditure under section forty-one of the Forests Aet, 1918-1931.

Wthe Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in

Parliament assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully granted Your Majesty in this Session of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the Sums hereinafter mentioned, and do there- fore most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted: And be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows (that is to say) :—

1. This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act, Short title.

2. There shall and may be issued and applied, for

or towards making good the supply granted to His Majesty for the services of the year ending the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, the following sums, that is to say:

From the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Fourteen Million Six Hundred and Eighty-nine Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty Pounds.

From moneys to credit of the General Loan Fund, the sum of Eleven Million Five Hundred and Sixty-two Thousand Two Hundred and Forty-seven Pounds.

From the Public Account for Advance to Treasurer the sum of Seven Hundred Thousand Pounds.

SCHEDULE D.

ADVANCE TO TREASURER.

To be issued, if and when required, from the Public Account, to enable the Treasurer to make advances to the public officers, also advances for the Trading Concerns, and for the resumption of land for resale under the provisions of the Industrial Development (Re- sumption of Land) Act, 1945, and to other persons, or to a suspense account for the purchase of mechanical appliances, or for payments of deposits on Contracts or on account of other Governments, etc. Also to pay expenses of an unforeseen nature, chargeable against the Consolidated Revenue Fund, or the General Loan Fund ; such disbursements to be transferred monthly to the respective Votes and Services, and to be shown as excesses thereon or as new items. The appropriation may also include expenditure in excess of the provisions of any Loan Act pending statutory authority for the raising of such moneys, and the appropriation may also include expenditure on works and services pending pro- vision being made in a Loan Act, and such expenditure, to be charged to Loan Suspense Account, to be subsequently submitted to Parliament for specific appropriation. The whole amount to be adjusted subject as hereinafter provided, not later than 30th June, 1951: Provided that expenditure incurred for minor advances to other persons and for purchase of mechanical appliances may be adjusted over such periods as the Treasurer may approve—£1,000,000.
